As better and better Android phones are developed, from the Samsung Galaxy series to the powerful new devices made by Huawei, more and more consumers find themselves switching from the iOS Apple devices to the many different types of devices powered by the Android OS. However, one of the major complications of doing so is transferring one’s iOS data to one’s new Android device. Contacts can be transferred more easily between iOS and Android, and some apps, like Samsung Smart Switch, can be used to transfer text messages, music, media content, etc., between phones. Unfortunately, even though some Apple and Android apps may be identical, much app-specific data has become increasingly difficult to transfer – one example of which would be messages in the LINE messenger app. No matter what you’ve been using your LINE app for, chances are that you’d quite like your past chats to be available for viewing after you’ve changed operating systems. But currently, there is no way to transfer Line chats from an iPhone to an Android device. So navigating this process on your own can be difficult and confusing.
Lucky for you, we’ve developed a step by step guide to ensure that you’ll be able to read all your old LINE messages on your new Android phone. The iPhone Line to Android Migrator software has been made to make the difficult process of data switching as easy as possible. In 5 steps, all your old iOS LINE messages will be on your new Android device, and you’ll be ready to chat on the go again.
Step 1: Connect iPhone to computer and backup LINE chats to local database
Yahoo Messenger Chat History
Before connecting your iPhone to computer, you should first turn off the 'iCloud Backup' on your iPhone. This can be accomplished by going to Settings > Your Apple Profile (Your Name) > iCloud. It is also advisable that you turn off the passcode by going to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Turn Off Passcode. If you don't perform these tasks in the beginning, software might not be able to read your LINE chats on your iPhone. You can re-enable them after transferring the LINE chat history from iPhone to your Android.
Now, run the software and connect the phone you’re transferring from (the iOS device) to the software using a USB connection. Make sure you still have LINE app on your iPhone with verified phone number. The software will automatically detect the phone and display it on the screen. After that, right-click on your iPhone and click on the 'Backup Messages' button. This option will automatically copy LINE messages from your iPhone and save it onto its local database. These messages will be kept safe in a secured local database. This is important, because it means your personal messages won’t be floating around on the internet.

Before connecting the Android device to your computer, it is important that you enable the USB Debugging mode on your Android device by going to Settings > Developer Options.
If the 'Developer Options' menu is not visible on your phone, please go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information and tap the 'Build Number' 7 times to unhide it.
Step 3: Log in to your LINE account on Android and connect the Android to your PC
Make sure you have LINE app on your Android and logged-in to your account that you were using on your iPhone. If you have single SIM card then its time to remove it from your iPhone and insert it on your Android. After logging in to your LINE account, connect Android device to your computer via USB cable, and wait till you get a notification from the software to install the 'Li Sync' app on your Android. Then, you will be asked to install AppClone (also known as Parallel Space) app on your Android. Follow the simple on-screen instructions and install the app on your Android device.
TIP: If you already have some LINE conversations on your Android that you would like to keep, please go to Settings > Chats > Back up and restore chat history and back up your chats to Google Drive as soon as you login into your LINE account on Android. If your phone is brand new, and you don't have any LINE conversations, then there is no need to backup your chats to Google Drive.
Step 4a: Add LINE to AppClone app and disable the 'Speed Mode' of AppClone
Now, you will need to run the AppClone/Parallel Space app on your Android device and add LINE app to parallel space by taping the 'Add to Parallel Space' button. If the LINE app is not visible under suggested apps list, then click the 'Add to Parallel Space' button without selecting any app. You will get the option to add LINE app on the next screen. Next, disable the 'Speed Mode' of this app by clicking the 3 dots/ellipsis.
Step 4b: Run the LINE messenger via AppClone app and login to your LINE account again
Now tap on LINE app icon so that you can run the 2nd copy of this app inside the AppClone. Finally, login to your LINE account again and restore the chats from the Google Drive backup.
There is no need to restore the chats from the Google Drive backup if you haven't backup any chats to Google Drive. In case AppClone doesn't restore LINE chats from Drive due to some error, you may need to force close the 'AppClone' and 'AppClone ARM 64 Support' by going to App Settings and try again.
Step 5: Click the 'OK' button
Click the 'OK' button and the software will detect your Android device and display it to the user interface.
Step 6: Right-click on Android device and select 'Transfer Messages from Database to Android'
Find the local database where your messages have been stored, and right-click it. Once it is highlighted, a drop down menu will appear. In this menu choose 'Transfer Messages from Database to Android' option. Now pick the LINE account on the Android phone that you intend to transfer all old messages to. Click the 'OK' button. After this, all of your local LINE messages with media will be transferred to connected Android device.
Step 7: Open the LINE again with AppClone and backup your chats to Google Drive
After transferring LINE chats from database to your Android, you need to open the AppClone app on your Android and run the LINE messenger again. After doing that, go to Settings > Chats and backup your LINE chats to the Google Drive again. Now, just uninstall the 'AppClone/Parallel Space' app from your Android.
Step 8: Run the regular version of LINE app and restore your LINE chats from the backup
After uninstalling the AppClone from your Android, you need to run the regular version of LINE app and login to your LINE account if required. One last time - go to Settings > Back up and restore chat history and tap on 'Retore' button to restore all the LINE chats with media from Google Drive to your Android.
Final Note: There you have it: In minutes you can restore all of your LINE chats onto your Android device. The process is bit time consuming. However, what’s a little manual labour to restore all of your important chats? Happy transferring!
Line How To Backup Chat History
Thanks LACAllen. I didn't know that's how it worked. I thought I would be able to see the chat backup like I can see my Photos that are backed up. I dug around on my iPhone a little more and saw that if I went to Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage and then selected 'Manage Storage' for iCloud that the LINE app icon shows up under Documents & Data. Thanks for clarifying for me how iCloud stores app data. Cheers!!
